Purchasing Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Identify, document, and adhere to all processes performed and interfaces with other departments. Obtain at least three quotes for all items purchased over $5,000. Obtain the appropriate approval for all capital equipment purchases and other purchases in excess of $25,000. Establish guidelines and requirements for supplier relationships and audits. Purchase all spare parts and accessories for company’s machines from the appropriate supplier(s) as long as there is no engineering order delivery required. Manage the importing and exporting of all materials and spare parts. Develop and maintain the annual budget for the department. Complete monthly reports on the progress of all projects, e.q. delivery information according to budget, monthly sales according to budget, etc. and report any discrepancies. ERP System- Lead internal and international cross-functional teams in developing new procedures and processes. Manage and maintain continuous process improvement. Coordinate projects in data analysis to improve performance. Develop KPIS for measuring success and adoption across the company. Repair/Refit-Manage the refit and repair process at the company. Utilize ERP system for at least the following: Repair, return, credit cockpit(s) monitoring and management; invoicing cockpit(s) monitoring and management; service notification monitoring and management (Refit); and quotes and sales order monitoring and management (Refit). Temporary remote work available upon request. The position requires up to 25% of travel. This position will have supervisory responsibilities. 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

At a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Purchasing, Management, Business Administration or other related field and 8 years of CNC machine tool manufacturing environment experience. In addition, the position requires: experience with review, analysis, and interpretation of general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; experience with writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; purchasing experience in continuous involvement in the supplier selection process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology; experience in manufacturing of CNC Machine Tool environment and precise tools and parts for mechanical equipment; logistics experience in importing and exporting of CNC Machines and goods from Germany; process management experience in analyzing, designing and configuring of new process structures in the ERP System; and experience working with European companies focusing on international trade.
